Taurus PT111 Millennium G2 Review

The Taurus PT111 Millennium G2 is the striker-fired SA/DA polymer framed semi-automatic that boasts a thin profile with a ramped 3.2" barrel. With its lightweight 22 oz. polymer frame, an exceeding thin profile, the newly designed Millennium G2 is the ideal concealed carry handgun. Additionally offering accessory rail, the Taurus has assuredly packed radical innovation with metal and polymer. So what are those innovations?

First, the G2 offers the repeat strike capabilities. This means that in case of a hang fire the shooter does not have to wait the 30-60 seconds. This normally happens due to cartridge primer issues, but all you need to do is pull the trigger again. This is also helpful during dry firing with some laser trainer in place. Furthermore, the G2 asks leave of a magazine disconnect. Fire away even when the magazine is not in. On a more practical note, this means that during times of need you can switch the magazine while firing the last round. Even when the new magazine is not completely in, the last t round will fire and the G2 will be at the ready to start delivering judgments at barrel lengths.

Given that the Millennium G2 is a concealed carro, the Taurus's 'slim and mini' incorporates five safeties. It has a trigger safety to prevent the trigger bar from moving unless a finger is applying significant pressure on the trigger. Second is the manual thumb safety followed by a loaded chamber indicator that protrudes atop the slide when a round is chambered. Furthermore, the G2 has an internal firing pin block ensuring that the firing pin cannot contact the primer unless the trigger is all the way to the rear. Finally, the integrated Taurus Security System (TSS) allows the shooter to key-lock the entire weapon with a simple twist.

Externally, the Taurus PT111 G2 offers allot of details. As soon as you grip the pistol you'll realize the aggressive rough grit grip texture. But don't go for the looks! It may seem like sandpaper yet it's not uncomfortable-sticks like glue. Then there is the thumb memory pad on the frame. A great addition for both the beginners as well as the pros. The pad serves as an excellent reference point and ensures that both hands are in the same place every time. It alleviates worry and eases regaining one's bearing during stressful circumstances.

Well if it were any other gun, one would have mentioned in detail how awesome the frame was and how durable the components are. But for Taurus PT111 Millennium G2, it's sufficient to say that it is the most durable concealed carry out there, even if you are the 13th owner of the gun. Why?
